History of the Bank

The Jamia Co-operative Bank Ltd was duly registered by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, New Delhi and on obtaining the requisite license commenced its operation at 334 E, Batla House, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi 110 025 on December 28,1995.

The area in which JCB's operations are currently concentrated, a large proportion of the population belongs to the lower income strata. It is the bank's objective and focus of effort to inculcate in this section of the community a sense of thrift and a habbit of saving in order to help uplift their standard of living.

The JCB has placed service to its clients as its primary objective. It aims to help clients and resolve their problems. Still if there is any compliant it is dealt with immediately to the satisfaction of clients.

The JCB provide all types of accounts facility i.e. Current Deposit, Savings Bank Deposit, Recurring Deposit and Fixed Deposits All these accounts have been computerized, thus enabling the bank to provide faster service to its clients.

Deposits up to the value of Rs.5.00 lac per depositor have insurance cover with Deposit Insurance & Guarantee Corporation, a subsidiary of RBI.

The Bank is fully equipped to provide locker to its clients immediately on demand and is in a position to expand locker capacity as and when required.

The JCB is a direct member of the New Delhi Bankers Clearing house.

The Bank has been adhering to the directives of RCS and also complying with the instructions of the RBI. Impressed with the performance of the Bank two awards for the best Co-operative Bank for the year 2001-2002 and 2008-2009 were given by the Govt. of NCT, Delhi.

It is a matter of great satisfaction that JCB has continued to secure "A" classification in the official Audit Reports since its inception till date.

The Bank has got EDP Audit, Concurrent Audit in addition to the Statutory audit.
